Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club -- a heavenly venue.

This is a photo from a wedding at Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club on May 9. The moon was full, the tide was high and the party was gorgeous. This is one of the best places in Beaufort to have a special event. My brother is the general manager of the club, so I am biased, of course. There is a fantastic river sunset view, playground equipment for the kids, facilities for guests who arrive by boat, a big screened porch and deck overlooking the water, very nice bar area. Susan Mason Catering did the food for this party and it was delicious. I had the crab cakes and shrimp gumbo. Not sure if they were local or not, but it was good. If you want to contribute to the Lowcountry's economy, ask for local foods when you are planning a party! Besides helping local farmers and fishermen, you will be giving your guests an authentic taste of the Lowcountry.
